BEETLEHEMIN LAPSONEN
The Baby of Bethlehem

Here´s is one picture of us.  It was taken for a week ago in the hall of
Jorvi Hospital.  It´s a big hospital in Espoo, a city close to Helsinki. By
the way we sang "By Your Abundant Love" twice there.

"The Baby of Bethlehem" is still at the "practicing stage"  We are planning
to record it in our Christmas meeting at 19th of December...
Thank you, Ralph, for this song, we really love it.
I first fell in love with the lyrics, so I "had" to show
the song to Marja who loved it, too...
(Lea, from Finland.  11/04)

TAIVAAN ISÄ
Abba, Father

"I send you here the handwritten notes of 5 songs of yours
which we have translated to Finnish and arranged for
our choir.  We sang "He Shall Be Called" 5 times
during the Christmas season. We now started to practice
"To The Rock"
and "Abba Father".   These songs are lovely...
a real pleasure to sing and even practice!"

JOHDA MINUT KALLIOLLE
To The Rock

We have been singing "To The Rock"  many times, once in the church meeting
and many times in the hospitals.  This song is one of our favorites...
it has a sweet anointing as we sing it.  We made a live recording
with three microphones in the meeting... the quality is not very good,
but if you like, we'll send you a CD soon...

The Greater Grace Choir of Finland
sang "In Every Single Situation"
at their 2003 summer conference !!

JOKAIKISESSÄ TILANTEESSA
In Every Single Situation

We added a couple of more verses to the song... "In Every Single Situation"...
words like wisdom, whispering His advice, mercy and sufficient grace.
I think this song is lovely and full of comfort even though it is a fast song.

JEESUS, SÄ OLET MUN PAIMENENI
You Are My Shepherd

We also added a second verse to "You Are My Shepherd" saying...
"He is your Shepherd"...   We go to hospitals and old people´s homes to
sing there  and we think it is good to direct the song also to the listeners
so the words come more personal to them.

SUN VALTAVAN ARMOSI VUOKSI MÄ SAAN
By Your Abundant Love

I like this song very much.  Its melody is calm and beautiful and
it's great to sing these words to the Lord, worship Him and get
reminded about the wonderful shelter of His grace."

LEPÄÄ SÄ VAAN
Rest in me

This song has ministered to many people during this fall.
Our hospital choir leader, Päivi, sang it a month ago in a church meeting.
In two weeks, we are planning  to sing it in our women's seminar,
maybe at our New Year's conference in January,
as well as in hospitals during the coming months.

My wife and I are missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators...
I sometimes produce special videos for individuals to
help them raise financial support. At the end of this type of video I would
like to have a montage of images with a hymn as background music.

I want the words the people are singing to be in a language other than
English to illustrate the purpose of Wycliffe, translating God's Word into
all the language of the earth so people can sing praise to the Lord in the
language that speaks to their heart.

I would like to have several of the songs from Finland from your website as a resource for
a video I may produce in the future.
(John, from Wycliffe Bible Translators)

Here is the English translation of a new choir piece
by Lea Alaja & Marja Väisänen (Helsinki - Finland, 12/05).

SILENTLY IN THE CHRISTMAS NIGHT

1. Silently in the Christmas night
    with the shepherds
we are waiting for the miracle:
in the midst of the darkness
    sounds the song of angels,
    sounds the song of angels.

2. The star is leading us
    to Jesus.
    In the manger of Bethlehem
    we are watching the Miracle:
    the child is so sweet,
    the child is so sweet.

3. There we can see
    the glory of the grace.
We kneel down at the manger,
    we worship the Miracle:
    oh, the child of Christmas,
    oh, the child of Christmas.

4. From His eyes is shining
    the heavenly love.
    All is a great miracle:
    God is near
    and the love everlasting,
    and the love everlasting.

Ralph's E-mail

Last Sunday we visited again one nursing home and sang "Jokaikisessä tilanteessa" and
"Jeesus sä olet mun paimeneni" there. It was such a sweet blessed time,
God touched both the listeners and us in a wonderful way.

I remember one old lady. Her eyes were shining and she said that everything is so good.
While talking with her Marja said to me: "This lady has Jesus in her heart".
I said to the lady: "It can be seen in your eyes".   Ralph, you cannot imagine,
how happy she became when she heard that we saw Jesus shining through her.
She is a beautiful testimony in this home.
