I want to be like Jesus,
so friendly and so kind.
For He was always gracious
and had a humble mind.
Alas, I ’m not like Jesus,
that anyone can see.
Oh Saviour make me gracious,
so I like You may be.

in all my daily chores.
So that to all it ’s obvious:
I ’m one who Him adores.

in helping the infirm.
To make their lives more joyous,
while showing my concern.

if I like You may be.
No, I am not like Jesus,
yet, still He is my Friend.
I must therefore be zealous
till this life’s very end.
My Saviour wants to help me,
He ’s made that very clear.
One day I will be sin free
with Him forever near.
